eLiner project, developed in collaboration with INAIL and the Politecnico di Milano, focuses on the development of advanced physical interfaces for upper and lower limb prostheses, with the goal of significantly improving the comfort, safety, and performance of patients who have undergone amputation. This is achieved through the integration of smart components based on the use of soft materials, while also innovating production processes. The aim is to create personalized prosthetic liners and sockets, capable of adapting to the specific morphological characteristics and individual needs of each user, using advanced technologies and wearable computing approaches to make the use of the prosthesis more natural and comfortable. Prototypes of prosthetic liners and sockets will be developed using innovative textile materials and Computerized Knitting techniques, along with soft robotics solutions, enabling the monitoring of various physiological parameters of the user and self-adapting to the physical changes of the residual limb overtime.

In addition to focusing on comfort and functionality, the eLiner project also aims to develop aesthetic-functional prosthetic components. These components will be made using high-tech materials that combine high mechanical performance with a significant reduction in the weight of the prosthesis, improving both its appearance and efficiency.
